Valley of Fire State Park – Mouse Tanks Trail

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Very quick and easy hike where you can see an abundance of Petroglyphs, red rock, sand, beautiful dessert flowers, and a tank (small pool of water that collects in a sunken rock in the desert).

Distance:             .8 miles round trip
Time:                   30 minutes
Start:                   White Domes Rd
Difficulty:           Easy
Elevation Gain: 63 ft

The sand was soft, warm, and fun to just lay down and play in.

My daughter’s favorite color is yellow, these bright yellow flowers were a pretty stark contract to all the red rock and red sands.

We had a competition to see who had the most sand in their shoes at the end of the hike… If you are wearing tennis shoes like us, you’re bound to have a good supply.
